A little Italian kitchen on Santa Monica Blvd.
Carla bakes the ciabatta, makes the pasta and cooks the sauce. The caffè opens at eight with pastries out of the oven, and there is a dog named Biscuit at the door.

Closed Sunday
Fatto in casa
The ciabatta for the panini is baked here. The pasta is fresh and the sauce is Carla's own, and she sells it by the jar to take home. Nothing on this menu arrives in a box, which is why the menu is the size it is.
Ciabatta
Every panino is built on ciabatta baked in the shop that morning. Five of them: Capri, Tonno, Turkey, Chicken and Prosciutto.
Carla's pasta sauce
Fresh homemade pasta with your choice of sauce: bolognese, arrabiatta, pomodoro or pesto. The sauce of the day is sold by the jar to take home.
Pastries & gelato
Croissants, cornetti plain or almond, and bomboloni alla crema. Later on: gelato, tiramisù and the torta del giorno.

Carla, from Rome
Carla has spent more than twenty years in Italian kitchens, including cooking privately for some well-known names in Hollywood. Da Carla is her own room. She owns it, runs it, and is usually the one who greets you.
Regulars walk in and say hello by name. Her son helps run the place. Biscuit, the Pomeranian, holds the door. It is a small operation in the middle of Beverly Hills that behaves like a family kitchen, because that is what it is.
"Carla is amazing and will make you feel like a part of the family."
Yelp review
"Da Carla is the best Italian food I've ever had and I'm born in Italy."
"You can taste the freshness, everything made from scratch."
"The environment is homey and welcoming, it felt like home."
Come and sit
Open Monday through Saturday, eight in the morning until eight at night, closed Sundays. There are tables under the yellow umbrellas out front, and dogs are welcome. Biscuit will have met them first.
